Motor vehicle accidents can happen when you least expect them—and even a small collision can lead to lasting pain. Whether it’s whiplash, strained tendons, or soft-tissue trauma, recovery can feel frustrating and slow. That’s where shockwave therapy for motor vehicle accidents in Lumberton, NJ, can make all the difference. At Advanced Back and Neck Care, we help patients recover faster, without invasive procedures or long downtimes. Contact us today at (609) 261-7562 <link to call> to schedule your first appointment.

We understand that Lumberton families lead busy lives, and no one has time to wait months to feel better. Shockwave therapy is a safe, non-surgical option that targets pain at the source—so you can get back to work, family, and life.

Common Injuries After Motor Vehicle Accidents

Even if your car doesn’t look badly damaged, your body may tell a different story. Here are some of the most frequent accident-related injuries we see:

Whiplash and Neck Pain

Sudden jerking from a rear-end collision can strain neck muscles and ligaments. This leads to stiffness, limited mobility, and headaches.

Soft-Tissue Damage

Ligaments, muscles, and tendons absorb much of the impact during a crash. Micro-tears can cause swelling, bruising, and long-term discomfort.

Shoulder and Tendon Injuries

Seatbelt tension and forceful bracing can injure shoulders, upper back, and tendons—especially in the rotator cuff or elbows.

Lower Back Strain

The force from a collision often puts pressure on the lower spine, leading to sprains or herniated discs that affect posture and movement.

These injuries may not always show up on X-rays but can cause serious pain over time. That’s why early treatment is key—and why shockwave therapy is such a powerful tool in our care plan.

Hip and Joint Misalignment

Some patients also experience misalignment in the hips or sacroiliac joints, which can cause radiating pain through the legs or lower back. Shockwave therapy helps bring circulation and muscle relaxation to these deeper structures.

Post-Accident Headaches and Tension

Neck and shoulder injuries from accidents often trigger persistent tension headaches. By treating tight muscle knots and deep fascia, shockwave therapy reduces these headaches at the source.

What Is Shockwave Therapy and How Does It Work?

Shockwave therapy, or extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), uses acoustic energy waves to trigger the body’s natural healing process. At Advanced Back and Neck Care, we use this modern treatment to reduce inflammation, break down scar tissue, and speed up tissue repair.

Benefits of Shockwave Therapy

  • Non-invasive and drug-free
  • Reduces swelling and chronic pain
  • Improves circulation in damaged tissues
  • Stimulates collagen and cellular repair
  • Short sessions with no recovery time

For active families and working professionals in Lumberton, shockwave therapy offers a fast, no-fuss solution to lingering pain. Many patients feel relief after just a few treatments.

Why It’s Ideal After a Car Accident

Traditional approaches to accident recovery often rely on pain medication or rest. While rest is important, many patients don’t feel real relief until targeted healing begins. Shockwave therapy shortens recovery windows and addresses the root causes of pain.

How Shockwave Therapy Helps Specific Injuries

Each injury is different, and shockwave therapy allows us to personalize your recovery.

Whiplash Recovery

Shockwave reduces tension in the neck muscles and helps improve range of motion. It also promotes blood flow to heal strained ligaments.

Tendon Repair

Tendon injuries—like those in the shoulder or elbow—respond well to the energy pulses. Shockwave breaks down thickened scar tissue and speeds healing in overused joints.

Muscle Healing

For bruised or strained muscles in the back or legs, shockwave therapy accelerates regeneration and reduces muscle knots.

Lower Back Support

By targeting deep tissues in the lower back, we reduce inflammation and support spinal alignment—without injections or surgery.

Long-Term Recovery Support

Many accident-related injuries become chronic if left untreated. Shockwave therapy prevents long-term stiffness, reduces scar tissue buildup, and restores proper muscle function. It’s an investment in lasting mobility and pain relief.

What to Expect at Our Lumberton Clinic

If you’ve never had shockwave therapy before, don’t worry—it’s simple, safe, and fast.

The Process

Each session takes about 10–15 minutes. A handheld device delivers sound waves to the affected area. Most patients describe it as mildly uncomfortable but manageable.

Frequency of Visits

Depending on your condition, we may recommend 1–2 sessions per week for several weeks. Many patients notice improvement within 2–3 sessions.

Minimal Downtime

There’s no anesthesia, no scarring, and no long recovery periods. You can return to daily activities right after your appointment.

We proudly serve patients from across Burlington County, helping people like you find relief quickly. If your injuries are work-related, check out our page on workers' compensation injuries to learn how we can support your claim.

Ronald Grisanti D.C., D.A.B.C.O., DACBN, MS, CFMPXylitol and Erythritol are commonly used by those wanting to lose weight or who are diabetic. Many people use artificial, low-calorie sweeteners to reduce their sugar intake. It's found in chewing gum, toothpaste, sugar-free candy, baked goods, and more. According to a June 2024 study, high levels of xylitol and erythritol, sugar alcohols and low-calorie sweeteners used in many foods and products, has been associated with an increased risk of a major cardiovascular event, like a heart attack or stroke and death. The researchers in this study analyzed how xylitol impacts heart health in over 3,000 patients in the U.S. and Europe. The team of researchers, led by Dr. Stanley Hazen at the Cleveland Clinic and published in European Heart Journal on June 6, 2024 showed that having the highest blood levels of xylitol is linked with a 57% increased risk of a major cardiovascular event compared with lower levels. The Reason Why Xylitol and Erythritol May Pose a Cardiovascular Risk? Blood components called platelets help blood to clot. The researchers found that both erythritol and xylitol made platelets more sensitive to blood clotting signals. . Additionally, taking a single 30-gram dose of xylitol increases blood levels 1000-fold within 30 minutes – this increase can stimulate blood clotting, which is concerning for people with existing heart disease. These results suggest that consuming erythritol and xylitol can increase blood clot formation. This, in turn, could increase the risk of heart attack or stroke. What Products Commonly Include Erythritol and Xylitol? Chewing gum Candy Ice Cream Breath mints Some Dietary supplements Mouthwash Toothpaste Sugar-Free Desserts Liquid compounded medications Commercially produced: Baked goods, beverages, candies, chewing gums, chocolates, tabletop sweetener packets, ice cream, puddings, jams and jellies, fruit preparations, biscuits, and sauces Dr. Grisanti's Comments For now, I recommend being cautious using products with xylitol and erythritol in it, – particularly those with cardiovascular risk factors. Although some people will say the research may be flawed, I have to wonder if the people against this new study have an agenda that places the public at risk. All in all, I say why take the risk. I prefer to err on the side of caution and simply stop consuming food items that have erythritol and xylitol in it. Using xylitol and erythritol in the small amounts typically found in chewing gum, toothpastes, and mouth rinses seems to be safe. But using it in very high doses and long-term isn't a good idea. It does not mean throw out your toothpaste if it has xylitol in it, but we should be aware that consumption of a product containing high levels could increase the risk of blood clot-related events. If you're looking for a sweet treat, the only sweeteners I stand behind are organic, 100 percent stevia or monk fruit extracts. Remember simply read the labels of the items you eat or drink if you want to know if xylitol and erythritol has been added. --------- ATTENTION DOCTORS, ALL HEALTHCARE PRACTITIONERS, PATIENTS and POTENTIAL NEW PATIENTS If you found this article of value may I ask if you can tell your friends and colleagues about Clinical Rounds.
